The back-to-back holidays of St. Patrick's Day and Easter have really done the quadruplets in. All of the kiddos - and Molly - have come down with some nasty combination of snot and cough and general disagreeableness.
Babies Charlie and Claire have been readmitted to the hospital and are being treated for fevers, congestion, viral stuff and bronchiolitis. Charlie is on and off oxygen but Claire is breathing on her own. Dillon and Henry are also pretty sick, but holding things down at home. We're hopeful they don't join their siblings in the hospital. And while the hospital isn't the most fun place to hang out - it is a bit of a vacation in that there are only 2 babies at a time to take care of :)
Prior to coming down with the plague, things were going pretty well for the quads. Grammy Ann came back from Texas for a visit with her sister Aunt Mary Jo, we went for our 2 month doctor's appointment and shots, back to the zoo for a playdate, lots of family dinners, cousin Joe's first flag football game, a sleepover at Granny and Papa John's and Torrey Pines for a coastal stroller ride.
The quadruplets also met Aunt Charlotte for the first time - who immediately took to them all, but her future godson Charlie in particular.
For St. Patrick's Day we went to the San Diego parade in Hillcrest - and maybe had a festive pot-of-gold photo shoot in our shamrock gear.
The babies' first Easter was spent getting sick and backyard brunching at the house. Next year we might make it to Mass, since this year we just said our prayers from home.
We've had lots of wonderful family, friends and neighbors over to help feed and hold us over the past few weeks. Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes for all of your help and kind words and actions while the kiddos have been sick.
Here's to hoping the quadruplets are all recovered, healthy, and back together again soon!
